Hello, friends. Happy New Year! We’re excited to kick off 2026 with exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve expanded our operations, expertise, and physical presence into Central Pennsylvania, home of America’s refugee capital. You can learn more about our company’s first geographical expansion in our recent press release.   Why Central PA? As a language service provider driven to advance language access, we actively monitor emerging needs to ensure our services reach the communities that rely on them most. This region is the perfect fit because:

  • Lancaster and Harrisburg are home to over 15,000 non-English speakers.

  • Lancaster alone resettles significantly more refugees per capita than the rest of the U.S.

  • In 2024, York County, PA, passed a “Welcoming and Access to Immigrants and Refugees” ordinance and is home to a population that’s nearly 40% Hispanic.

  • Central PA is an extension of our hometown roots and one of our core values is staying committed to our communities both near and far.

This region is culturally rich, and the need for quality, local interpreters is significant. We have fully trained and onboarded over 20 interpreters to kick things off.

What Does This Mean For You? For our current clients, it’s business as usual! Nothing will change in your day-to-day use of our services as we remain committed to delivering the same level of customer service you’ve come to expect from us. My hope is that you see this expansion as a true testament to our commitment to advancing language access. It has allowed us to secure more valuable partnerships, expand our service offerings, and gain a better understanding of the needs of our clients and our linguists. This will create a better experience for everyone while offering our services to more people who need them. We are grateful to the 717 corridor for the warm welcome and look forward to serving the needs of those in the community from all backgrounds and cultures.

Thank you for being here throughout our journey. It means the world to us! With love, Mary Jayne

Social Impact

In December, Global Wordsmiths received the Curio Award which recognizes Pittsburgh businesses whose philanthropy or social enterprise efforts make a significant impact. Each year, Curio412 honors five exceptional businesses, and this year's awardees, including Busy Beaver Building Center, Inc., Global Wordsmiths, Junkluggers of Pittsburgh, Second Harvest Community Thrift Store, and Z&M Harley-Davidson, are making incredible contributions to our community, region, and beyond. We are proud to be among them and grateful to our friends at Curio412 for this recognition!
