Announcements

Free Certified Legal Translations for Asylees. The cost of certified translations is a roadblock for asylum seekers in legal proceedings, and being part of a society means using our resources to help others in any way that we can. We are offering certified legal translations at no cost for asylum seekers to stand up and be counted as conscientious members of the kind of world we want our children to inherit. We are only equipped to handle Spanish > English a this time, but in some small way, we hope this can bring comfort and ease the burdens of families and individuals. First come, first served, no restrictions. Contact info@globalwordmsiths.com. JUST ONE MORE MONTH to submit documents for #Census2020. For our very special upcoming cycle of The Language Access Project, we will be translating documents intended to increase census participation among English learners for free for any organization in Allegheny County. Census participation directly affects our representative democracy, and this is an exciting chance to make sure information reaches everyone. Contact meredith@globalwordsmiths.com.

Welcome to our Summer Intern, Rachel! Hi everyone! I am a rising junior at Carnegie Mellon University with a double major in Global Studies and French. My interest in language accessibility was sparked by my French studies, as knowing another language allowed me to connect with a new community and learn so much about the Francophone world. Working at Global Wordsmiths, I know that our work enables English language learners to connect with the Pittsburgh community and thrive personally, socially, and professionally.

Office closures. Heads up, our office will be closed on July 4th and 5th. Happy summer, Mary Jayne
